For far too long our media has obsessed over small but polarized news-bits. Is it lazy? Is it lack of journalism skills? I think it's a little of both. How many times have we seen journalists push a non-story, leave out important details in order to make it seem as though the story should be addressed, invite both sides on to discuss it and then leave it to the viewer to decide what's true, or half true or a lie? I remember back when journalism informed people and called out the dishonesty. It seems the media now just creates the confrontation and the people get to see the fight over truth, lies and have to figure it out on their own. That's not journalism, that's Fox "News"! Americans wouldn't have to decide if the media just reported the truth based on fact. The only thing people should decide is whether they choose to believe the facts that the media must report.
